 Shawl Dance by Betty Albert

Experience the vibrant spirituality and cultural richness of Cree artistry with this stunning limited edition framed canvas. Created by renowned Indigenous artist Betty Albert-Licenz, Shawl Dance captures the dynamic movement and deep spiritual significance of this traditional ceremonial dance.

About the Artist - Betty Albert

Betty Albert-Licenz is a Cree artist whose work bridges traditional Indigenous spirituality with contemporary artistic expression. Adopted and raised by French Canadian parents in Northern Ontario, Betty's artistic journey led her to Vancouver Island where her interests in art and spirituality flourished. After reconnecting with her Native American father and discovering her Cree birthright, she co-founded Wabimeguil Art Studio, distributing her powerful artwork throughout North America.

Like many Cree people, dreams play an important role in Betty's life and work. Her distinctive faceless dream people invite viewers to see themselves in the art, creating a deeply personal connection. Through vibrant acrylic colors and spiritual themes, her paintings encourage us to experience tradition, action, and profound spirituality in new ways.
